Album Cover Design
Crazy Little Thing Called Love

Project Background
Creating a vinyl record album cover for Queen’s iconic track “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” offered a thrilling opportunity to encapsulate the essence of the song and the band itself. Queen, renowned for their innovative music and bold aesthetics, inspired a design that merges vibrancy, nostalgia, love and musicality.
Challenge
Design a captivating front and back cover that not only pays homage to the song and band’s legacy, but also resonates with today’s audience, utilizing colors, typography, and symbolism to evoke the spirit of the music within a cohesive visual narrative.

Inspiration
Inspiration was drawn from the vibrant colours and unique typefaces reminiscent of the contents of vintage jukeboxes, the late ‘70s and Queen’s iconic aesthetics. The design is guided by nostalgic elements from classic album artwork and visual representations of love, and the band and the song’s spirit. Ideas were also derived from the vibrant energy associated with the colour orange to represent the song’s upbeat tempo, red to highlight its romantic undertones and passion, and purple for touches of depth and to represent creativity and mystery.
